A new location for 2024

Gilberts Barn is a rustic, rural retreat overlooking picturesque fields and farm land on the Charrington Estate in Reigate Heath. This is a perfect location for our published workshops, courses and small private events. The Barn has an open front shelter with it’s own walled garden.

The barns onsite previously had a very specific place in the agricultural process. They were used for storing crops after the harvest when the barns were stacked to the apex of the roof with sheaves of wheat or barley.

What to expect

The Barn is very rustic, it is a new location for us for 2024 and we will be continuing to make improvements to enhance the site throughout the Spring and Summer as we settle into how we wish to use this lovely open space. The open-fronted shelter will be used throughout the year, the space has an enclosed walled garden area too. As parking is limited at this time we will restrict our numbers to a maximum of 10 visitors at any one time. If you are visiting with a friend please car share.

hartswood

Nestled within the picturesque woodland of Hartswood also on the Charrington Estate is this picturesque setting a perfect spot for our Corporate Experiences. The dappled shade from the woodland canopy allows in the light but also offers the shade we welcome during the hot summer months.

The tranquility of this lakeside location, home to some amazing flora and fauna sets the scene for the mindful experiences we offer.

This woodland setting is perfect for private groups sizes of 20 to 200

hedgelaying

The hedgerows within this 1,500-acre estate are very well suited for hedgelaying and therefore perfect for use in both our Introduction To Hedgelaying Course and our more advanced Hedgelaying Skills Training Course run throughout the coppicing season from October through to the end of March each year.
