Hedgelaying

Hedgelaying

Hedgelaying services are sub-contracted out to local authorities, organisations such as the National Trust and private residents and landowners including local farmers to ensure a stock-proof barrier. Paul lays hedges in both the South of England and Midland style.

Hedgelaying is undertaken during the coppicing season between October and March.

Work examples

This video link shows the hedge at Polesden Lacy in Dorking, completed in March 2019. The hedge is cut in the South of England Style with Midland binding.

This is a link to a video of the hedge at Wrotham Heath in Pilgrims Way that Paul completed laying in 2013. A great example of Hedgelaying in the Midland style. Excuse the wonky video footage!

Cost

Commercial Hedgelaying is priced at approximately £15.00 to £25.00 per metre (depending on the complexity of hedge).

Assesment

The hedge will need to be assessed before an agreement to undertake the work can be secured. Typically a hedge needs to be at least 10ft in height before laying. Please complete the contact form providing as much detail as possible.

We will arrange an initial telephone consultation before providing a quotation, a visit to view the hedge may also be required.
