Living Willow Harlequin Tree

Weave your very own living Willow Harlequin Tree to take away and nurture at home!

You will have the opportunity to choose your design (using 2 or more withies in your weave) and the height you require (up to 5ft). Lorraine, your tutor will talk to you about the different varieties of Willow and how to care for your tree. We will start by making a small tree so that you get used to the weaving technique used before applying to your larger tree.

Additional Willow including an online tutorial to make further Harlequin Trees when you return home can be purchased as ad-on extras when booking your ticket.

Suitability

The workshop is suitable for adults and teenagers. All materials to make your Willow Harlequin Tree will be provided and you will get to take your finished work home to enjoy for many years to come!

You can download a care sheet to advise you on how to look after your Harlequin Tree, see pdf link below.

You may also wish to join a second workshop on the day, to make a Living Willow Dome, see booking page link below:

Upcoming Workshops

Michaela Muller,
Harlequin Tree Workshop

Enjoyed a wonderful morning with Lorraine making our own willow harlequin trees. It was so relaxing in the tranquil surroundings of the Birtley Woodland Art Space. Small group, all Covid safe and so much fun. I can only recommend the craft classes at Hedges & Hurdles and will book some more classes.

Cat Fagg,
Hen In The Woods

Lorraine helped me to arrange a fantastic “Hen in the Woods”, woodland crafting experience for my sisters hen do. Super organised in the lead up to the event and a really lovely informal day of tea light holder crafting, foraging, a beautiful lunch, willow weaving and afternoon tea. All the hens had a lovely time and I would highly recommend contacting Lorraine if you are looking for something similar!
