The first hedgelaying competition of the season took place last weekend during the West Grinstead Ploughing Match & Show held at Priors Byne Farm, Patridge Green. Paul Matthews was proud to take the trophy in 1st place gaining 90 out of 100 points in total. He was closely followed by Matthew Beard in 2nd place and Phil Hart in 3rd. I hope you will join me in congratulating the winners.

It was a hot day with 10 cutters undertaking the hedgelaying in the South of England Style of cutting. the hedge was variable in its consistency of height and everyone finished within the allocated 4 hours, which was no mean task as previously 5 hours had been allowed to complete the hedge.
