Willow Crafts: Sculptures

Join Lorraine for a full-day or two-day Willow Sculpture workshop and release your inner creativity whilst being inspired by either the surrounding woodlands, lakes, and gardens of Birtley Woodland Art Space, the picturesque Sussex Prairie Gardens or our rustic Gilberts Barn in Reigate.

We offer a selection of workshops for you to choose including the opportunity to learn how to weave a Willow Hen/Chicken, Baby Deer (Calf), Goose, Duck, Pheasant, Tortoise, and Mushrooms with more designs to come.

Our Adult Deer workshop is held over two days.

FOR 2025 WE ARE INTRODUCING A ‘YOUR CHOICE’ SCULPTURE WORKSHOP!

The choice of what you make is up to you! We will provide you with sufficient Willow that we believe you will need to create a sculpture in a day. You will be able to buy additional Willow if needed on-the day.

Locations

If it’s very quiet in the woods around our outdoor studio in Bramley you may spot a Rabbit, Deer or even a Badger, however, you are more likely to see and hear the wide variety of birds in the trees and the abundance of Geese and Ducks on the lake! At Sussex Prairies they have pigs and sheep sometimes too and the wonderful views across farmland at Gilberts Barn, you will see cattle, pheasants and birds.

Regardless of the location will start our workshop by either looking at photos of the bird or animal we will be sculpting with Willow or if present we will observe them, focusing on their shape and form to inspire the design of our sculptures.

This workshop suits smaller groups and has a tutor/trainee ratio of 1 to 8 maximum.
