A successful Wood Fair?

Last weekend we exhibited at the Surrey Hills Wood Fair at their new location in Cranleigh, Surrey. This was the first time Hedges & Hurdles had exhibited here and we weren’t disappointed! Despite the poor weather on Saturday the sun shone for everyone on Sunday and it was both an enjoyable and worthwhile event to be a part of. We will definitely return again next year!

We are new members of the Surrey Hills Enterprises, the organisers of the Wood Fair and proud to have been awarded the ‘Trade Mark Surrey Hills’. Our membership has already lead to new introductions and the opportunity to collaborate with other members including Gate Stree Barn in Bramley.

Having a stand at the Surrey Hills Wood Fair gave us a great opportunity to showcase our Hedgelaying & Hurdle Making Training Courses and various Workshops, as well as displaying the range of products we make including, Wattle Hurdles, Cheese Boards, Tea-Lights, Wreaths, Birch Hearts plus hand designed signs and wedding products in collaboration with Leaf & Ink.

Our stand was located at the edge of the wood leading into the main field and was a prime position for the thousands of visitors passing by.  We had a fantastic opportunity to engage with so many interesting people visiting and exhibiting at the event, this is the reason we attend and makes for both an enjoyable and successful event!

We are always keen to undertake some kind of demonstration at the events we attend and on Saturday morning Paul began his Hedgelaying demonstration cutting in the South of England style, the hedge was predominantly Hazel and it took until the end of the following day to complete but the results were spectacular as I am sure you will agree from the pictures below:
